Well, a brand new STF-3 direct from HSU with full manufacturer's warranty and 30-day return privilege is only $479, so IMO $400 for a used one is ok but not great.

Include shipping+tax(i live in CA) it comes to $577. This is a local pickup so its $400 out the door for me.

Where in CA? Can you drive to Hsu? Sometimes they will give you a nice cash and carry price.

You did not provide this full info in your original post, so obviously the used sub now looks like a better deal. It's eqivalent to a 31% discount over new.

But some people may still prefer to pay more for the new unit to get the warranty, return period, and the assurance that they are not buying a used sub that has been abused or driven hard.
