I posted this same inquiry on the SONY KDS-xxa2000 tweaks thread and have not heard anything...any help would be appreciated...

White Balance - bias, gain - picture mode - temp?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On the KDS-60a2000 and/or other SRXD models, if you set the white balance gains and bias under the custom picture mode for a given temp (neutral, for example) do these settings track/map over to the other picture modes (vivid and standard)?...i am trying to understand if i use the picture modes for various lighting conditions (bright room lighting - vivid, low/med room lighting - standard, dark or no lighting - custom) and set the tv's grayscale via custom on a given temp (neutral) via the white balance gain and bias does this track/map over so that all i would need to do is vary the brightness, color, picture on the vivid and standard modes...doing this - even if it's not exact, would save going into the service menu...any help on how this works would be great...

Greetings

just do an extreme example test and see for yourself. It will take all of 5 minutes. Make the grayscale super red on the dark end and see what happens on the other modes.
