Hi guys. I am looking to replace my HSU VTF-2 subwoofer. I am currently looking at the VTF-3 HO with Turbo Charger, or two VTF-2 MKIII's. I am looking to spend $1000-1100 on the whole thing.

My current system:

Outlaw 990 Pre-Amp
Sherbourne 7/2100 Amp
Ascend 340's across the front
Ascend CBM-170's for surround and rear
Monster HTS2500 Surge
Oppo 981HDDV-981
Mitsubishi 62inch HD LCD

The room is rather large, but is subject to change (30Lx 15W x 10H).

What's the story, and is there anything else I would be better-off considering? (I found the VTF-3HO on Craigsub's post).

Thanks much!

Currently there is nothing better than the HSU VTF-3HO and VTF-3.3 in their respctive price ranges, IMHO (I own the 3.3 w/Turbo). Check out the Craigsub rankings thread and also the professional review of the 3.3 by Howard Ferstler of The Sensible Sound that is linked on the HSU website.

My VTF-3.3 is both powerful and musical (in an open room of more than 7000 cu. ft.). 'Nuff said.

Based on pure speculation, and the initial reviews of the Submersive and BMF, the Mark Seaton designed MFW-15 that is due in March/April @ $999/pair would probably be the only thing under $1200 that could hang with the HO/Turbo.

But like I said, that is pure speculation based on his other designs, and it isn't due out for a month or 2. Personally, I would wait for those, because I can't stand how the Turbo Charger looks, but that's just me.

But 2 VTF2.3's cannot hang with the HO/Turbo.
