I've had my 51F59 Hitachi RP HDTV since July. Wondering what settings everyone else is using.

My user menu video settings for night viewing (20' x 16' room w/ one table lamp on with 75 watt bulb):

Contrast..................... 40
Brightness.................. 66
Color.......................... 33
Tint............................ NEUTRAL (centered)
Sharpness................. 50
Color Temperature.... STANDARD
Black Enhancement... OFF
Edge Enhancement... OFF

Autocolor.......................OFF
Noise Reduction............ OFF
Auto Movie Mode...........OFF

I can't tolerate my contrast much lower than 40, it looks too washed out. I think that different production runs of the tv's might get slightly different calibrations.

I did the basic SM menu tweaks thanks to the guys on this forum.

If I turn sharpness down below about 40 I can notice some blur effect starting to be visible. But I am also viewing analog SD cable most of the time. With HD content I might see an improvement with a ower sharpness setting.
