Went to my local Sam's Club and they have a great deal on a 55" Sony LCOS set with the stand. The only problem I have is does Sam's Club offer any kind of extended warranty on the tv's and who does the repairs if needed? If they do not have a service plan can I buy one from somewhere else after I buy the set from Sam's Club? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure about the warranty from Sams Club but there are many EW plans available. Most warranties, manufacturer or EW require a factory authorized service center perform the work.

Just make sure everything is in writing. A salesperson saying it's covered is not a guarantee.

I purchased an EW from here:

Sam's offer extended warranty also. When you check out, you can ask the cashier to ring the extended warranty and its price is comparable to BB/CC.

But who does the work on the Sam's club warrant? The same outside professionals like the factory one does or some in house whack jobs?
