PSM said that not all BD are equal, some are no better than upconverted DVD. I'm thinking of buying the X-Men (The Last Stand) and MI-III... has anyone bought them? are they "true" HD? or just anotehr DVD version carrying a "BD" label?

It has detailed reviews for pretty much every BD released. MI-III received 5 out of 5 stars in their review for PQ.
Also, check out the AVS Forum under Blu-Ray Software and this thread as it has reviews for those movies and MANY others.

I own MI-III and I have to say that you CAN'T go wrong. It definitely spoils you when watching other video sources. I've also heard that you can't go wrong with X-Men either.

CRANK
The Decent
The Covenant
Black Hawk Down
Kingdom Of Heaven
Flyboys
These are all near reference quality or Tier 1 or Tier 0 Quality for sound and video quality...
If you have a Good HDTV...bluray is totally awesome. Also do not forget the sound system...

Crank will blow your mind with PQ, for the first 5 minutes I kept rubbing my eyes, I had to get used to the level of detail

I was crying tears of laughter the movie itself was so bad. But yeah, it sure looks great.

It's certainly not Citizen Kane, but I don't think it's bad. Fluff, yes. Easily forgettable, yes. But, I was entertained for the 87 minutes it was playing. After three days of moving boxes and moving into a new house, it was perfect. I didn't want to think, and I certainly didn't have to to enjoy the movie.

Bought both :D Played MI-3 last night.. sound is just AMAZING .. I have watched it on DVD before & my impression is that it was of less clarity and less prominent sound effect. I will rent a DVD to do A/B on them :)
X-Men ... will try this weekend.
Tks guys!
