Hello,

I have my Escient Fireball 100 connected in the living room to the ethernet port on the Express. It is able to reach the internet because it found all the DVD and CD information.

However, I should be able to make changes to the settings from my computer by typing in the IP address. It shows as 10.0.1.10 since I have my Airport Extreme set to distribute IP addresses. When I try to go there, I get "403 Forbidden The requested URL '/' resolves to a file which is marked executable but is not a CGI file; retrieving is forbidden"

What? Escient thought that I have a firewall blocking the cookie from getting back to the computer. My software firewall is off. How do I set the Extreme and Express to pass it?

SRHookEm,

It sounds like you are referring to an Escient Fireball DVDM-100. If so, this requires a software update in order to access it via a web interface. If the unit is currently running software version 3.0.3.6 or prior you can register to receive this update (4.1.7.8) through the following URL. Once updated you should be able to access the Fireball's webGUI by it's IP address or server name.

Let me know if this does not resolve your issue.

I do have 3.0.3.6. I called Escient this morning. You think they would have known this.

I'll try it!

Worked! Thanks for the tip!

I did notice that my aqua blue color has disappeared when highlighting an option to select. It's now just white. Any ideas about that?
