I have been looking to get myself a new set for a while now, I am debating on wither the new 2007 led models are really going to be worth the extra cash and if the HDMI 1.3 is really going to be worth the wait.

My main questions are what is the real advantage picture quality wise that I will have w/ waiting for a few months and shelling out an extra 700 or 800 clams. I planed on probably getting the service policy from best buy due to a large amount of store credit I have w/ them, so I would be covered for the bulbs for 4 years.

Is the HDMI 1.3 going to offer me that much better picture quality/color depth for the ps3 and would hdmi 1.2 really look that much worse? Also is there anything else to consider which would make waiting a few months and spending the extra cash well worth it?

I would not think it will be a huge difference. I am a pretty big home theater buff, and I am looking at either the hl-s5086w or 5087w. I did not see much if any difference between the 720p and 1080p. I think the 1080p came out very slightly smoother (granted I was watching espnhd which isn't a 1080p source). But I would just think if there isn't a HUGE difference when it comes to 300 extra lines of rez, I wouldn't think the added color depth of hdmi 1.3 is going to be worth $800 extra. Just my opinion though. Plus I have read people say media that will take advantage of the added color depth of hdmi 1.3 won't be out for at least 3 years or so. Which means you won't get to take advantage of the extra $800 you spent for the next couple years. I say save the money.
