Not sure if this question belongs in this forum. But I've noticed that brightness levels through HDMI are too high when selecting RGB output on my PS3, but through YCbCr, it is much more natural.

What exactly does this mean? I've heard that Blu-ray is native YCbCr on the disc, so all it means is that PS3 does a crummy job of converting YCbCr to RGB colorspace? Or YCbCr native sources will always look better on my particular television?

The RGB output may be using video levels (16-235), while the YCbCr output could be set to PC levels (16-235 expanded to 0-255).

I don't have a PS3, so I don't know if you can tell it to output RGB in Enhanced Mode (PC levels) or not.

I would agree with maxleung, though I don't know what the PS3 is doing specifically. To test this, use the full range ramps pattern on DVE.
