I saw in today's paper that Fry's has their Sony SXRDs on clearance. They're getting rid of them! Is this just Fry's not carrying them anymore or is there something better in the near future?

Sony will announce their new 2007 models at the end of Feb., but usually those aren't commercially available until July/August. Maybe they have some extra stock from the holiday/SuperBowl season that they want to offload.

I saw the add also but was thinking these are the XBR1's. I was in Fry's yesterday looking at sets and I noticed they still had the XBR1's on display. Just a guess....

Last week I paid less and I bought it from a local store. (KDS-50A2000)

I went to their site and looked at their this weeks sale price for a KDS-50A200 and compared that to what I paid.

You're right, I just noticed it is the image of the XBR1. Also, their inventory/item number for this TV is different than the KDSXXA2000s they had on sale just last week. The price is the same but the TVs appear to be different.

mjg100, for the KDS-50A2000, here in the Los Angeles area, that's the lowest I've seen then go for (at a local shop anyway).
