Are there any out in the marketplace? I know InFocus use to have an 8 or 9 inch deep DLP that you could mount on a wall.

Currently I have a old style rear projection 55" 1080i TV. I have a sliding glass door behind the couch that causes glare, so I need a TV that can reduce that (which I think rules out Plasma). I want to stay at least 50" and would prefer 55-60.

My wife would like a wall mounted TV to free up space in our family room. Is there anything out there?

Indeed, those DLPs are slimmer than the 2006 models, but you won't be able to hang them on a wall. The only ones that could are the Infocus and RCA models that are no longer produced.
