I'm currently in the midst of trying to load my Infrant NV+ with all my CDs for a server-based playback system. Before I've even decided on the audio front-end (leaning towards a Squeezebox) I've got the video-server bug.

This LinkTheater Mini caught my eye; it's certainly the right price and might be a great way to "wade in" while I try to figure out an audio solution for the listening room and an HD video solution for the Pioneer plasma.

Is thing any good for $80?? I'd love to set it up to just stream TV-from-DVD, burned to the Infrant, into my SD bedroom set.

Not much response. I know this device is now discontinued, likely in favor of a wireless solution, but I have 5e throughout my home, so this hard-wired solution suits me; and at $80 the price is right to try and cut my teeth, so to speak.

Can anyone answer this question: my current "backup" software rips to .vob, along with .ifo and .bup, which I assume the .vob needs to be read properly? Are these compatible with the Buffalo device (which says only that it is compatible with MPEG-2 standard resolution files) or will the Buffalo software convert these files to be compatible?

Thanks,
