Sounds like a bunch of minor crap that doesn't address any of the major issues.

How about being able to organize your videos into folders???

It is supposed to be a media center machine and yet when I put my videos on it (140 of them) which were already organized into folders, the folder organization is gone and they are just listed INDIVIDUALLY!!

The only way of organizing them is alphabetically or by import date. Ridiculous.

I put all my vids on then deleted them when I realized how lacking the media options were.

Get on it Sony.

Sony broke the best selling Blu ray player on the market with an update. When will they fix that?

I'm just wondering what happened to the DTS-MA feature which many were claiming would be enabled with the March update...hopefully they didn't forget to add it.

I believe all the reports but am confused because mine plays BD movies fine.

Why would I want to pre-purchase songs for "sing-star" on the PS3. Hasn't that game been delayed to 6/1/07?.

It is usually nice to have the actual game out before the content and expansions start showing up for sale.

Mine worked with 1.5 where the original problem arrived, the patch to fix the problem caused mine to pause!

Hopefully that will be in the next release. Sony will not announce that the problem is fixed in a future update, however, because that would be an admission that the they created the problem in the first place.

So, they mention the audio/video conferencing (...exactly why I bought a PS3) but does this include multi-tasking for downloads? i.e. downloading while playing a game?

I wish they fix the 5.1 to 2.1 downmix issue for personal HD files. Hi-def MPGs on DVD-Rs play great, even full length movies, but the 2.1 downmix is annoying.

How about the scaling issue for those with older hdtv's that don't support 720p? Will they ever make it to where they can scale these images up to 1080i instead of downgrading to 480p?

Oh yeah, they could do it now. There is a dedicated hardware scaler. :p But holding out is just part of their master plan of PR and marketing genius. ;)

Sony combs forums, websites, and talks to the man on the street, dogedly trying to figure out what the consumer wants. Then they pounce on it and fix or address it. If they can't immediatley fix something they acknowledge the concern publicy rather than burying their heads in the sand. :p

Got to love corporations. Admitting you did something wrong and addressing it is one of the things that makes humans somewhat redeeming and noble. Apparently, once you get a group of them into an organization it provides enough cover to where they no longer feel it is the right thing to do.

What about DTS-HD MA Decoding so it can be passed to the received as LPCM ??

I must be lucky because i still play movies fine with all the updates. I would be pissed though, because i mostly use the ps3 for the blu-ray player.

I'm going to reword some of that but keep the basis and frame it on a wall at work. Exactly and Sony is leading the way with this phenomena.

I agree with your statement. 1.5 did nothing wrong to my BD playback. 1.51 is what messed mine up. Now I get 10sec pauses here and there.

Did you call Sony and tell them your problem? If you did not then it is not a problem..

Call Sony tech support and tell them. If you did then good.

I'm not trying to defend anything that Sony may or may not have done, but in today's climate where lawsuits are the way to "hit the lottery", no one can ever truthfully admit to anything.

And I, too, lament the death of honesty, responsibility and nobility. But I think the legal "bullies" have far more to do with it than any inherent evil in the corporate world.

How about they actually start adding DEMOS to the PS store, MS has been real good about releasing at least a few demos each month while Sony is sitting on it's laurels. Also, what genius decided that we shouldn't be able to copy game saves back to the PS2 memory card? I got a PS2 in the bedroom and sometimes I feel lazy and I wanna play my PS2 games while laying down but I can't take my game saves between PS3 and PS2.

I also have no problem playing BR movies, I'm getting Descent from netflix tomorrow and thats supposed to be a problem movie so I'll see what happens. So far I tried Silent Hill, Ice Age2, Into the blue, Omen, Underworld and Saw III with no issues.

any update that doesn't include mention of background downloading has to be false. It would be utterly stupid not to have that by the Euro launch.

The Cell has 6 cores, it shouldn't even cause it to blink and should be extremely simple to implement in software. Especially after all this time.

The Cell has 8 cores with 7 active in the PS3...any there might be away to get all 8 cores to be active....

I think the DTS-HD MA rumor was spread by a single member on this forum, which led others to later spread the rumor as well. His "contact" may be reliable, but I have my strong doubts.
