How close can insulated recessed fixtures be in proximity to gas lines (black pipe)?

Interesting question. I don't really know the answer, but I don't know that it will be an issue since the pipe does go into the hot furnace and doesn't have anything happen.

But, I'm no expert.

If you pulled permits, I would call your local building and planning office and ask. Better safe than sorry.

Instructions should be on the light fixtures or check;http://www.nfpa.org/aboutthecodes/list_of_codes_and_standards.aspNFPA 54 and 58 if propane. I don't think it's a problem unless it rests against it or touches it-grounding issues.
