I am looking at getting the JVC hd-61fn97 (61") or the hd-70fn97 (70"). I looked at other set including Mitsubishi and Sony but I feel the JVC has the best picture and no RBE. SO I am sitting at about say 8 to 10 feet from the spot the tv will be a little off center, so should I go 61" or 70"?

If you have to ask ...

you don't deserve the extra inches.

At 8' feet, I would choose 61". At 10', the decision isn't quite so easy.

If you spend most of your time in front of the TV watching content available on DVD or high-def, I would choose the 70". Otherwise, I would go for the 61".

i am about 11.5 feet away from my 70" and would have no problem going larger.

I'm 9 feet from my 61" and I could easily watch a 71" from the same distance.

I have never heard anyone say, "Damn I wish I had bought the smaller TV..." There are plenty of folks sorry they did NOT buy the bigger one though! 8' is pretty close but it will be GREAT for HD content or good DVD's w/ an upscaling player... SD content might be iffy, but I know w/ the Sony 70" it does a GREAT job even w/ SD content pretty close up.

I was set on a 50 inch for a while. Decided at the last second to get the 61.

It seemed HUGE to me at first. But after a while it became 'normal'. So now when i go to best buy - that 50 incher looks tiny to me.

Go bigger. I got a 56" over a 50 and after having it for almost a week it looks tiny again lol.
