I just received my Sanyo Z5 which is destined for my soon to be completed home theater. My theater is completely light controlled and has dark walls and a black ceiling. I will be using the SMX screen with a gain of 1.16. My seating distance will be a bit over 11'. What size screen should I make? I will be building a frame for the SMX material so I have a choice of sizes for my 16:9 screen. The largest screen I can fit is 96" wide or 110" diagonal. If I go this big I will be seated at about 1.4 times the screen width away from the screen.

I just purchased a Toshiba HD-XA2 high def DVD player. My theater room will be used to display HD-DVD's, upconverted SD-DVDs, as well as HD content such as sports, Discovery Channel, network programming, etc. via DISH network.

Given the light output of the Z5, screen gain, pixel structure, seating distance, content being displayed, and room conditions I have, how big should it be? I am hoping that some current Z5 owners will chime in here.

Everyones eyes are different, IF it were me, I'd blast it onto the screen wall(or hang a bedsheet, since walls aren't even close to white), sit where the seating will be, and adjust zoom until you begin seeing Screen Door......
Then I'd back off till it disappeared.
But thats just me.

Have Fun!!
