Ok, let's assume that sometime in the year 2007, Microsoft releases a Xbox 360 with HDMI output. Now, if we were to get one of these units, and use it with the HD-DVD add on unit, would we be able to get lossless sound from the HD-DVD movies? I'm assuming we would, but nothing is ever a given. To me, the biggest reason I would want a HDMI 360, is for the lossless sound from the HD-DVD add-on, but I'm not 100 percent certain that this would be a guarantee. Anybody know?

what I would like to see is someone hack the 360 to put the HD-DVD drive inside it
or a newer HD-DVD drive that has SATA and make it work
or maybe M$ will do it
I will buy the 360 again for the HDMI and again for the HD-DVD built in I just hope they let us upgrade the HD and not pay something like $200 for a 120GB HD I want the bugest I can get and be able to upgrade it without a lot of trouble

Guys, just "assume" that the 360 will stay "as is".
Until we get a real confirmation of some sort of upgrade I don't want to see any more of these threads. Especially the "hacking" & HDMI kind.
I'm just going to start deleting them on site.
Just enjoy the 360 for what it is, a great gaming/media machine.
