I was curious to know if wearing the armor in multiplayer RB6 Vegas helps much or if it really just slows you down? It doesn't seem to help me and I noticed alot of the people I have played against that are really good don't wear it.

It does help, but I don't think being fully armored is worth the trade off in mobility. There is a file on Gamefaqs that someone put together where they tested various armor setups and documented the protection each afforded.

Trickniner, any chance you can paste the file here? I can't access gaming sites at work. Its that whole instant gratification thing. :)

If not, no worries. I will wait until I get home.

But you can only use the pistol when using the shields right?

I had trouble identifing that review as well. If anyone knows the link to the article that rates the armor protection vs . the mobility loss, could you please post it up. TY

After looking around I can't seem to find it either. The person who wrote it may have taken it down for updating, I don't know. Sorry guys. I'll keep my eye out for it though.

Yeah, wearing heavy armor slows you down alot. Does it help? Yes. But is the trade off for wearing heavy armor worth losing your speed? No. I used to wear the heaviest of armor, and have since changed to almost nothing. Reason being......someone throws a grenade you cannot move quick enough to get out of the way, and it doesn't matter how much armor you have then because you die anyway. Take the speed and learn how to use cover...ALOT.....just my 2 cents.

The jist of it was that
A) it doesn't matter where you have the armor, the game calculates a armor class based on your selection, and applies it to your entire body. So putting chest and shoulder armor and no leg or arm armor still offers the same increase in protection for the legs and arms.

B) There are only three armor grades, even though the game showns you a 0-10 scale. That is, between 0-3 is the low class, 4-7 is the mid class, and 8-10 is the high class. Within each class, there is no difference in protection, i.e. 3 is the same as 0, so you might as well use 0. Head shots are always instant kills, no matter your armor class, or whether you have a helmet or not.

I personally use no armor, I have noticed having to blast people a million times only to have them turn around and kill me with a single burst, but it's worth the trade off IMO, just learn to shoot for the head.

I only keep the leg armor on just for the looks...
