Unfortunately my screen is a 65" 1080i RP-CRT. I picked up the X360 VGA cable along with the HD-DVD add-on hoping I could use it all to replace my Oppo upconverting DVD player (which would move to the new screen in the bedroom), but unfortunately while 480p and 720p transcoded perfectly, 1080i did not.

I bought the Audio Authority transcoder to use with my HTPC back in the day, and it worked great, but the 360 has pretty much allowed me to retire my HTPC. I could get 1080i from the HTPC using PowerStrip, but there's no such thing for the 360. Just gonna keep the Oppo in the living room for DVDs and the 360 HD-DVD add-on for the new stuff.

For what it's worth, if someone out there has a 720p screen with no VGA in and wants to get VGA working with it to upconvert DVDs from the 360, to use a custom resolution, etc., send me a PM and maybe we can work something out. My transcoder isn't doing me any good at this point. Maybe it can help out someone else!
