i just got the mitsubishi hd1000u projector and have a comcast high def cable box with hdmi. i conected the projector to the cable box with an hdmi cable. i conected my dvd player to the projector with component cables. everytime i switch inputs from lets say dvd components to hdmi, i lose the hdmi signal from the cable box to the projector. the only way to get the projector to get the hdmi signal again is to turn the cable box on and off or unplug the hdmi cable and plug it back in. this is annoying as all hell !!
is this normal or is this a problem with cable box? hdmi cable? or god forbid the projector?
thanks
let me try to clarify this. my dvd player is hooked up via componet cables, my comcast hd cable box is hooked up via hdmi cable. when i watching cable under hdmi, then switch to component where my dvd is, then back to hdmi, i get no hdmi signal. i get snow when i go back to hdmi. the only way to get the picture back is to turn the cable box on and off. it happens everytime i swith from hdmi, to component, then back to hdmi.

I answered you in the other forum.
i dont think you understand my question....i tried to clarify it.
I have both component cables and HDMI connected to my HD1000 with no problems. In fact it gets even more convoluted as the HDMI cable runs from the projector to a monoprice HDMI 2x1 switcher. I have 2 six ft HDMI cables plugged into the switcher. One from my DISH VIP 622 HD receiver / DVR and one from my Toshiba HD A2 HD DVD player. The component cable runs from the projector to my JVC receiver where my Panny DVD recorder is plugged in through it's component output.
When I switch between HDMI and component inputs on the HD1000 remote there is just a few moments while it switches and no problem. Same when I push the button on the HDMI switcher to change from input 1 to input 2.
I have never had a problem with the "handshake" between the HDMI sources / cable and the projector.
Could you possibly have a bad cable?
