View Full Version : Problem streaming video to 360, getting annoying vertical and horizontal lines

I wonder if anyone knows what I can do here...

I'm streaming video that is 624x352 to the 360, it streams fine but there are horizontal and vertical lines throughout the screen. It looks like the video is made up of a bunch of small boxes that don't line up correctly. I guess this is a scaling problem.

When I stream video at 960x544, this problem doesn't happen.

So what resolution should I be using for these smaller video files to avoid this?

I have my tv set to 720p if that helps...

streaming wmv. I convert from avi to wmv, the video looks perfect when I view it on my PC, but when it streams to the xbox it gets messed up

What programs do you guys use to convert ... I was told of a couple such as TVersity for transcoding but that didn't run well. I only have AVIs on my computer and I want to convert to WMV or Mpeg2 ... what programs do you use?

Sorry for hijacking your thread

I use River Past Video Cleaner. It's well worth the money, it's really easy and reliable.

That's what I'm thinking, but I don't know why it can scale a 960x544 video correctly and not a 624x352.

I end up streaming these divx downloads of the show I don't get on cable anymore and it is 512x384 and looks like crap on my 48in widescreen.

transcode360.

you have to have media center, but it will play any video file on the fly, with FF and RW support, etc.
