Im coming from a PLV-Z2 to an AE700. I've never had a DLP and kinda scared of RBE. I've sat in best buy and tried to see if I notice it on the rptv's but I'm not sure if its the same thing or not since its on a front projector. Now since the ae900 and hd1000 are pretty much the same price now which you think is a better projo? I've been researching for the past month now and am ready to get one. Just want the best image I have a dedicated home theater with total light control. Anyone had both? Thanks for any info.

FYI: I have problems with RBE and I notice it much more on a larger projected image than on a rear PJ TV. You should really see a full sized front PJ image if you have any concern about it.

Does the HD1000 have a serious issue with rbe?

While some pj's are better with RBE, if you're sensitive with it on one, you'll be sensitive with all of them. I steer away from DLP not only for me, but for the people that come over to watch with me. I'd hate to have a good friend come over and not be able to watch because they get sick.

Concerning the 900 vs 100 debate, I think you'd be happy with either. Seeing as you have total light control there won't be a whole lot of benefit of the 100 over 900 as far as lumens go. I just sold my 900 and am looking to replace it with the 100. The only thing I can say bad about the 900 was it had an overly soft image for my taste. I will take a softer image over SDE but this was a little softer than I like. I have heard this has been improved on the 100.

I think the big question is have you spent time with a big screen image w/ 4x color wheel. If you've only seen 1-2x DLPs then quite likely you have nothing or little to worry about. If you've had big problems with 4x dlps then the ae900 is a great value :)
