My headset wigged out on me last night, so I took it apart to check if any wires had come undone from the cicuit board. One had, but in the process of handling it, two more came loose too. Can someone here tell me which color wires go with what solder points on the circuit board? I really don't want to drop 20 bucks on a new one if it's at all possible to fix this one. TIA.

Are you talking about the headset that came with the 360?

Yes, the 360 headset.

Give me some more details. Is this in the ear piece? Are the two wires blue and black? I only see those two wires in the ear piece connected by solder points. If that is the case, the blue wire goes on the left side and the black wire on the right if you are holding the earpiece with the circuit board in the 12 o'clock position.

Sorry for not being very specific. I'm talking about the part that connects into the controller.
It's the wires that go from the cord and on to the circuit board. There are four wires- a bare one that's still connected. It's the blue, yellow and black wires that are loose. It looks like there are five possible solder points, but I don't know which wires go to which.

the first solder point is connected to the bare wire. then, just below that one (below and slightly to the right), is what appears to be a solder point with nothing attached. Then you have two solder points, the first one yellow wire, the next the blue one. Then go slightly up and to the right, there appears to be another "false" solder point. The last solder point takes the black wire.

Just FYI, these things go for like a dollar on ebay, which is probably a lot less effort than soldering it back together...

Along with Free's comment, you can go pick up any 2.5 mm headphone/mic to use on the controller. I got one from a Verizon stand for $10. The mic clips to my collar, and the ear-bud sits easily in my ear. No big deal, sound is good, and everyone can hear me perfect. Just a thought.

Just forget about it and drop the $40 for the Microsoft wireless headset. I love it.
