Troy-man 02-10-07, 09:19 PM I'll comment on the Infocus. The IN72 could be had for very cheap( after rebate) and when I compared one directly to the Optoma HD72 which my friend paid triple for I thought the IN72 looked better for standard DVD. The IN72 looked VG on HD signals but not as good as the HD72. My friend said that had he seen what the IN72 could do, he would never have purchased the HD72 for $1,100 more. The one aspect in which the HD72 had a clear advantage is the amount of screen door you can see from distance. You see a lot more of it on the lower resolution IN72. Still, for the money, If It was me, having seen both side by side I would easily pick the IN72. Now since the HD70 is a lesser projector than the HD72, I can't imagine that is would impress me any more than the HD72 so without seeing it, I would imagine the HD70 will do a better job on HD signals and have less screen door effect when compared to the IN72 Since I do not know what the current street price on the HD70 is, I don't know what trade offs I'd be willing to make. I will say this, coming from the CRT camp which I believe out performs most every digital.... The IN72 at it's current price is really an impressive bargain. 18 months ago it was unheard of to have a 480P machine of this caliber on the market for under $500 bucks. People would laugh at you. waterlogged 02-10-07, 09:28 PM Thanks, i havent seen either pj in use and since i live in the middle of nowhere in Alabama, I guess a trip to Atlanta or Birmingham is in order. |
