Guys & Girls,

I have narrowed my selection down to two plasmas, Panny TH-58PX600U & Pioneer 5070HD. Which do you think is better and why. Consumer Reports rates the Panny #1 & the Pioneer # 8.

Thanks for your comments!

Welcome to the forum biglou96.

You may get some responses here, but if you really want to get the most info on these two I'd suggest looking through the plasma display section of the forums. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/forumdisplay.php?f=167

There are tons of reviews and info on each set separately and many comparisons for those two sets available there too.

Good luck!

I would also recommend you look in the Plasma forum. Also I strongly recommend if you pose your question there that you provide members with a lot more information about your room and your viewing habits and preferences. If you do, then they will be more likely to offer an "informed" opinion.

Cheers, :)

Consumer Reports rates the Panny #1 & the Pioneer # 8.Most people on the Plasma forum (including myself) consider the Pioneer's performance and features to be superior to the Panasonic. These two series are compared all the time and there is tons of past discussion about it if you search the Plasma forum.

Aside from the Pioneer's better picture quality (which is subjective), the Pioneer does have a number of extended abilities and nice features that the Panasonic lacks. Since the Panny's screen is 8" larger than the Pioneer i would presume the Pioneer would have better picture quality, but the larger Panny obviously would give you more of an immersive big-screen experience so unless you really need the larger screen size, i'd pick the smaller Pioneer.

Here's a relative post comparing the 50" models:
