Hey everyone,
First post ever. It's finally time to build my own home theater. The room is down to studs, the equipment list is decided on. But, it's four months until it's up and running, so I'm thinking about little things.

My projector will be a Mits HC5000. It will be ceiling mounted, and there will be a box built around it for cosmetics. The front and back of the box, where the lens and back of projector are, will be open. So the box is basically three sides, get it?

Ok, does anyone think the projector might get excessively hot being covered, though not totally? I know the exhaust fan is on the side of the projector, so I wonder. If so, what does everyone think of a laptop cooling pad to keep the projector cool? The projector will basically be floating inside the box because it's ceiling mounted, so I could make it just low enough to slide in a cooling pad on the bottom. Anyone think this might extend bulb life?

This forum is simply a wealth of information. Thanks to everyone
