I have a friend who wants to mount a new, (as yet undecided upon) 40" to 50" flat panel from the basement ceiling. The existing ceiling is a dropped acoustical ceiling about 4" below the joists. We could span a couple of joists with a crossmember and attach the flat panel mount to it. Has anyone ever seen this type of mount? Thanks for any help.
