Just checking to see if anybody in or around the GTA is looking at or has already ordered themselves an Epson TW1000. Would love to see the JVC, itching to see its high contrast sans DI..but I probably won't be able to afford it any time soon so I am looking to the Epson TW1000 or other 1080p lcd. Anybody thinking the same?

I won't be ready to take the leap for a few weeks even if I get the impulse. Is anybody else considering it?

I am looking at the Epson or the Panny 1000. Unlike for past Panny projectors the 1000 can be had for a competitive price in Canada with a Canadian warranty. I would be upgrading from a pt-l300u.

Hey dude. Not sure what the pricing is. The Panny is not a bad option but it's not on my list. Are you thinking of upgrading soon? You would see a significant improvement for sure.

I've been looking at the usual 1080P suspects like the Panny 1000, Mitsu 5000 and the Epson 1000 but all the great deals that I find are from either the US or international... I wouldn't mind buying one of these units but the warranty (or lack thereof) scares me. AVS sells the Mitsu for a great price and it is just across the border but I would still like to see these units in person and decide then.

Maybe I should just wait for the hot topic JVC and pick up something good used... :D

The Panny pricing is very good in Canada (for a change) :) . Check with your local dealer. I may upgrade, but I am still liking my 300 a lot so I will likely wait for some time before I change.

I have heard that the Panasonic AE1000 is sharper than previous smooth screen versions. I may check into it a little further.

Well many of the JVC GTA crowd has received their toys. Anybody in the area received or getting the Epson 1080 any time soon?

Since the Pearl is available for a low price used, I wonder how they compare.

Anybody? There's a few RS1 owners in southern Ontario now. It would be useful to compare the Epson 1080 with the RS1. Yeah, I know, the JVC will probably look better, but it would be nice to see exactly how much of a difference there is :cool:
