i have a problem with my new z5, i have about 40 hours on it so far, it is fed by a htpc, and is being fed a signal equal to its native resolution (1280x720x60hzx16bit colour), and has been calibrated with avia.

it has distinct bands in the picture that appear out of focus, it isn't apparent in video, but as soon as text is on the screen, its apparent. my old benq didn't do this...

here is a picture, not great one, so the distortion is a bit hard to see (i have marked the bands with red arrows, the distortion is easiest to see on the far left band). when sitting in front of the projector is its very apparent.

is this just the nature of using a home theater pj instead of a data pj? or should i be calling in for warrant work?

Check your manual for vertical banding adjustments, this may fix it.

thanks, that improved it a lot! a bit more tweaking and it should be perfect. the manual referred to it as 'total dots'
