Hi there,

Does anyone have an idea what is wrong with my newly bought Tvix M3100U?
It mostly works fine when I gently play AVI:s. But when FF certain AVI movies it gets locked, i.e the TV screen freezes. Only way out is to power off the Tvix. Sometimes I also need to wait 15 minutes or so before power on, otherwise it just sits "loading" forever.

Could it be a problem with my TV? (It is a conventional 3:4 screen Sony, couple of years old. ) Same problem whether I use RCA (yellow/white/red) connectors or SCSI on TV (I bought a special RCA to SCSI connector just to get rid of the problem, but it didn't help)

Or is the problem more on the Tvix side?

Or is it a problem with certain avi movies?

Any help apreciated!
Thanks

Hello,

I'm a M-3100U user. I met this kind of problem with only few Divx 3 avi. After reencoding them into XviD I didn't note any issue. It cannot be linked to TV connection. Generally I'm using XviD for video with mp3 CBR or direct 5.1 AC3 for audio.

Divco provides a software to check compatibility of avi files. You can also check your movies with it.

Check also firmware you are using. Last official version for this player is 2.0.2.

Last thing, insure the way you unplug the USB connection from your computer: use disconnection shortcut button from your windows task bar.

I hope this will help you.
