Apparently UHD has screwed up again and S3 of BSG is the fake DD5.0 they've been pumping out for practically everything else.

Seems strange considering they got it right for S1 & S2 but the first 3 episodes of S3 have been screwed.

I've noticed the same thing, and have resorted to telling my HD-Tivo not to output DD when I watch BSG, so that my receiver will do a half-decent job of PLII decoding.

My receiver refuses to PL2 decode anything that's flagged DD 5.1, so I get stereo, like TVs did back in the 80's.

You could always run the RCA stereo cables from your HD box to the receiver and switch to that audio input when watching BSG.

I may get desperate enough to do that. It's a lot more difficult to follow the dialog on this show without a center channel when it competes with the music and sound effects. The Saul tent speech in the last episode was almost impossible to hear.

So sad. The 5.1 surround was part of what made BSG so much fun.

Now we don't even have that.:(

The 5.1 sound on BSG was the best I've heard in a show. There were lots of extremely low subwoofer thumps during dramatic scenes that really added to the tension.

Well, I need a reason to buy the DVDs anyway.

universal HD STINKS..the dialogue on all their shows is muffled, when in fact it SHOULD be true dolby 5.1..I'm not watching a show if i have to crank my volume up to 50 just to hear what they're saying.

What the hell are these people doing? It's been like this since the channel started.

Rakesh it hasn't. As I said earlier they passed DD5.1 correctly for seasons 1 and 2.

For everything else it's screwed up. God knows why it's screwed up at this point, and who knows why they can't turn on and off DD5.1 like every other network/channel.

Yeah, they pretty much suck.
