Hi Folks,

I have been googling and asking all day, but can't find the answer. I have done it in the past, and now have forgotten. I have my JVC 30000 hooked up to my XP, SP1 machine by firewhire, and every ver of DVHSTool I use sees the JVC, but the *.ts that it captures (during a restore from tape) turns to 00.00 bytes as soon as restore is stopped!

In the back of my head, I seem to remember having to cannibalize some filter/file from one version or DVHSTool (2.21b maybe) to another version (2.13 maybe), in order to achieve successful restore? Or I had to eject the tape and place back in? I have tried so many searches here, and find some threads related in archive, but nothing specific. PLEASE, if someone can tell me what versions I need, and what files from which versions to copy where. Many thanks.

What is the source of the recording? If it has the 5C encryption and it is set for record once, then you cannot copy it back to your computer.

Nope, its my own regular DVHS (not encrypted, not D-Theater). Even so, I would still get bytes with that.
