I am building a home with a dedicated home theater. The space is limited, and unfortunately I will not be able to make much changes regarding room dimensions, door placement etc.
The dimensions are L:17' 5 1/2" by W:11' 3 1/2" with a height of 9' 1 1/8"
The plan is to get a front projector, and for the time I do not plan to upgrade from my current large floor speakers (B&W 604 S3's)
On one side, there is going to be a rather large 5' double door just at the center, so the door edges will be at 6'1" from the front and rear walls.
I suppose for this setting dipole speakers will be better, but currently I have monopole book-shelf style B&W's (600 S3). I might be worthwhile to get dipoles though...
What would be the best localization for either bipolar or monopolar speakers? It is important to notice that the door ends at 11'1" from the front wall. I am thinking about placing the first row of seats at about 9'-10" from the screen, but that would be right where the door is, and therefore the speakers would end up being behind the first row but at level or slightly ahead of the second row...
Any help will be appreciated.
Manuel
