Are there any downsides to recording D-VHS on a Pro Grade VHS tape? I know people have done this on S-VHS tapes without much of a problem, but pro grade VHS tape can be bought so cheap in bulk (non-retail) packages online compared to S-VHS tape.

The machine I am using is a JVC 30k. I assume if I did this I would have to snip the pin so the machine would recognize the tapes as D-VHS.
