 Greetings Folks!

Embarking on my first media room project for my new (under construction) house. Some of the geometry for this room is not ideal, but I have to work with what I've got. I'm just about to go to drywall.

he room has a 12/12 vaulted pitch. The room has been thermally insulated with closed cell foam and so has the floor - so far the room is sounding very good without sound insulation - my plan is to add acoustic paneling where needed when I begin to use the room.

To mount the screen in the front I plan to build two pillars with a valance to hide the blackout curtain and electronic screen. I'm hoping to mount the front speakers in an alcove with the pillars - what do you folks think of this idea? I'm trying to avoid having to mount the speakers in front of the pillars - with the alcoves I can keep a neat front and make wiring invisible.

I'm working on the projector and screen sizes now and hoping I can make the geometry work.

I've learned a ton from this site and would welcome any sage advice you folks have to offer! I can still make changes now, but big changes will soon get hard to pull off.

Cheers!
