Scarpad 02-12-07, 01:54 PM Tonight and tomorrow 12th and 13th at 8pm EST on UHD. Well unfortunately won't be watching in HD this year I downgrade my Comcast service as the price for the next tier is too damn high. So Universal went, will have to watch this on SD. We'll be watching it with the Dog we've adopted, we're getting her today ! henry296 02-12-07, 09:06 PM Pretty disappointing picture quality. Many breakups on Comcast Cable in Baltimore County. RemyM 02-12-07, 09:54 PM No breakups on Cablevision. BreakStuff 02-12-07, 10:56 PM Sure hope they don't lose another champion breed at JFK airport this year. petergaryr 02-12-07, 11:03 PM Pretty disappointing picture quality. Many breakups on Comcast Cable in Baltimore County. Still images on UHD are great, but blocking in dog movements. wjg 02-13-07, 09:54 AM A little soft on D* but no blocking. I am liking the Akita so far but the Dandy has been winning big. Looking forward to tonight. Bill Marcus Carr 02-13-07, 12:15 PM Pretty disappointing picture quality. Many breakups on Comcast Cable in Baltimore County. No problems in Baltimore City. Excellent all the way through. Rammitinski 02-11-08, 09:08 PM What the @#%& just happened? They were showing the Dog Show on USA-SD, and they just cut it off and said they were moving it over to CNBC!! And I don't have no *&^%$#@ CNBC! And all just to show Professional Wrestling? They've ALWAYS carried the whole two nights on USA. This will be the first time I've missed it in the last 15 years. Man, are they gonna get an earful! (edit: I just sent them a nice, scorching e-mail. I hope it burns their damned ears off.) bradman 02-11-08, 09:16 PM I have UHD,and they are showing Jericho right now. What gives? petergaryr 02-11-08, 09:17 PM What the @#%& just happened? They were showing the Dog Show on USA-SD, and they just cut it off and said they were moving it over to CNBC!! And I don't have no *&^%$#@ CNBC! And all just to show Professional Wrestling? They've ALWAYS carried the whole two nights on USA. This will be the first time I've missed it in the last 15 years. Man, are they gonnal get an earful! Tomorrow night the whole second half is on USA. Rammitinski 02-11-08, 09:31 PM Tomorrow night the whole second half is on USA.A lot of good that does me now. They just ruined the highlight of the television-viewing year for me. I'm about mad enough to kill somebody right now. clifburns 02-11-08, 09:33 PM PQ was fine here in DC, but I'm stunned that they would would ditch HD coverage for professional wrestling. I realize that wrestling might play better to the viewers of USA-SD, but I'd doubt it plays better for HD viewers. And how hard would it have been to bifurcate the programming with WKC on the HD feed and the freak show on the SD feed? Also, the coverage on CNBC started in 16:9 and then shifted to 4:3. Bungled all around. Rammitinski 02-11-08, 09:37 PM Pro Wrestling might play better overall, but this is a huge, 1-time a year event. You even see the final results on the nightly local news in most cities, and the winners always appear on Letterman and some of the other, late-nite and daytime talk shows. I'm sure millions of people still watch it on USA-SD. Probably a heck of a lot more than on HD channels. Dog lovers don't watch it because it's in HD - they watch it for their love of dogs. I'm sure they will really hear about this one. It's inexcusable. No warning of it whatsoever, even on their website. I told them that except for the Dog Show, I'll never watch their network again. 'Course, I literally never watch it anyway otherwise - still, they don't know that. RemyM 02-11-08, 10:21 PM Not sure why you revived last years' topic, but as already discussed in another thread http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=989035 since USA has it's own HD simulcast now UHD is not showing it live this year. Tonight was USA from 8-9 and CNBC 9-11. Tuesday is all on USA from 8-11. UHD will have a replay of both nights from 4-10 ET on Wednesday. Rammitinski 02-11-08, 10:30 PM It was only on not more than an hour here on USA-SD, starting at 7:00 PM (CST). They just showed the first round, the "Hound Group", and then ended it. There was no mention or warning of this anywhere, not on their website, or in any of the TV listings. They had the whole 3 hours listed. And they've been advertising for it on the cable channels everywhere to be on USA-SD for the past month or so. I just posted in this thread because I didn't realize there were any recent ones on the subject, and when I went to start a new one, I was "directed" to this one. There were 3 listed before it, but none specifically mentioned the WKCDS in the thread title, and I didn't read through them. This was the first one with it in the thread title that came up. Even though I'm only able to watch it in SD I figured the HD section was OK because it's being simulcast in HD and there'd be more people watching it over here. Tater71 02-11-08, 11:45 PM So I switched over at 9:00 to CNBC HD and it's not in HD! Scarpad 02-12-08, 12:00 AM CNBC had the Hi Def Signal Boxed off so the crawly thing could sap my attention, a really poor decision by USA. Jim Shaffer 02-12-08, 12:08 AM CNBC has no right to be consuming HD bandwidth under any circumstances. What a bunch of idiots are running the entertainment industry these days. Rammitinski 02-12-08, 03:35 AM CNBC has no right to be consuming HD bandwidth under any circumstances.Nor SD, for that matter. Which is why I don't even bother having it. Knicks_Fan 02-12-08, 07:52 AM And weekends are a total waste over at CNBC - 80% infomercials. A waste of SD and HD (excuse me HD+) channels. Woof! Bluto17 02-12-08, 09:41 AM USA HD has a replay of last night's show - all three hours - that starts this AM, for those that got hosed last night. (Like me.) wjg 02-12-08, 09:55 AM I sent USA Network an email as soon as I had to switch to CNBC. I vented on the whole NBC fiasco from their unwatchable Sunday Night Football to their glorious SD on CNBC with screen bugs, side bars, and crawls. They really shouldn't have put the dogs on the screen. It distracted me from all the other crap they were showing. This is the second oldest sporting event in the United States for Gods sake. Second to only The Kentucky Derby !! Great job USA Net. gwsat 02-12-08, 10:29 AM I just posted in this thread because I didn't realize there were any recent ones on the subject, and when I went to start a new one, I was "directed" to this one. There were 3 listed before it, but none specifically mentioned the WKCDS [Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show] in the thread title, and I didn't read through them. This was the first one with it in the thread title that came up. Even though I'm only able to watch it in SD I figured the HD section was OK because it's being simulcast in HD and there'd be more people watching it over here. Rammitinski -- Although the moderators’ choice to add your post to this ancient thread seemed odd to me, too, its revival alerted me to look for and find the HD reruns of Westminster on UHD. I had no interest in watching it in SD and Cox OKC has not picked up USA’s HD feed so I figured I was out of luck until I saw this thread. Both nights will be shown tomorrow, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm CST and 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm CDT tomorrow, 13 February. I have noticed in the past that the moderators can sometimes be, not to put too fine a point on it, excessively sensitive to having ambiguous threads such as the one you wanted to start appear in the HD Programming Forum. It makes no sense to me, either, but maybe that’s why I’m not in charge. At least what happened to your comment beat being banished to Siberia, otherwise known as the Video Components Forum, as has happened to other, similarly ambiguous, threads. RemyM 02-12-08, 10:42 AM It was only on not more than 15 minutes here on USA-SD, starting at 7:00 PM (CST). They just showed the first round, the "Hound Group", and then ended it. So I set my DVR and was at least able to watch the rest of it. Better than nothing, I guess. I erred when I said it was on only 15 minutes. It was only the first group, but it was about an hour. The actual judging only took about 20 minutes, though - the rest was just filler and commercials. Rammitinski 02-12-08, 08:27 PM At least what happened to your comment beat being banished to Siberia, otherwise known as the Video Components Forum, as has happened to other, similarly ambiguous, threads.Yeah, I really didn't want to put it there, because I figured no one would probably even see it 'till at least the next day. :) TAdams 02-12-08, 08:32 PM Ok, what happened to the HD feed. Being shown as boxed 4:3 now on USAHD. Rammitinski 02-12-08, 08:36 PM I'm watching it in SD on a 32" analog set right now (in my computer room), and I'm seeing some real bad blocking on the dogs legs when the handlers are walking them. dwrats_56 02-12-08, 08:44 PM Yes, why did the display change to 4:3 with pillar box. This SUX. dwrats_56 02-12-08, 08:58 PM They fixed it. YEAH!!! Rammitinski 02-12-08, 10:56 PM Yeeeaaayyy Uno!!! WOOF WOOF!! 5w30 02-13-08, 09:55 PM Yes, why did the display change to 4:3 with pillar box. This SUX. Someone with a snow plow nudged the cable between the truck and the transmission point at MSG. I kid you not! thepicman 02-13-08, 10:44 PM Not sure why you revived last years' topic Because my topics are choice!:D |
