I asked this in the <3000 forum and got no replies, and I realize there may be other sections for wire questions but I couldn't figure out which one...

Is the 22 AWG HDMI cable much stiffer than the 24? They are sold out of the thinner cable, but I will just wait a couple weeks to order if the 22 gage will be harder to bend and stay in the connector... These connectors don't hold cables that well anyway and I don't think I would see any differences in a 35' run. Anyone?

The 22ga is pretty stiff. You'll need at least three inches clearance for the connector going into the device... and that's giving it a forceful bend. But yes, the cable is fairly stiff.

I have a 35 feet HDMI run from Toshiba HD-A1. I used monoprice 24 awg which I thought was already pretty stiff to pull thru a 3inch duct. It has been working without problem for the last two years.

If Monoprice is out of stock and you need something urgently, take a look at Pccables.com (http://www.pccables.com/cgi-bin/orders6.cgi?id=ID684420&rsite=&rcode=&action=Search&search=HDTV).

I've used their cables and they're of high quality. I sweep-tested their 15' HDMI cable out to 2GHz (HDMI 1.3 only requires 340 MHz) with an Agilent network analyzer and it looked nearly identical to a $150 Monster Cable of the same length.

It is VERY stiff ... to me at least.

I just installed a Pioneer plasma for a friend with a 24awg run through the walls and it was a hassle, but do able and I was very pleased with the performance....pleased enough to order the 22awg 35' for my own use. I just "installed" it last Friday and had to tack it on to the rack, since it was too stiff to coil it to keep it on the rack to keep the weight off the connector. I love how it works .. but like my Belden/Canare component cables ... its a little bit of a pain in the behind.

I love the performance though :)

I have a 30' of the DVIGEAR.COM cable and goes fine thur 2'' conduit. I believe it is also 22g based.

The best choice IMO is Bluejeans 24 awg with silever coating if it is under 50'. Longer than 50' need something heftier.

Edit: Bluejeans series two are very flex and well made. The problem with Mono is that they don't offer longer 24 awg with silver coating, if it matters to you, but 22 awg. All Bluejeans are Belden made cables.
