I am going to try and get some pics of my idea posted. Sorry if this doesn't work. The building itself is separate from the house, totally dedicated.
This is my first rendering, I am doing away with the curved wall in the rear.

This is the theater area with the current additions.

Hi Scott, the spacing between the two rows of seating looks really tight - are those drawn to scale? Might be hard to get into the back row of seats without hopping over the back of the seats :p

No, these are not to scale. The spacing will be approx. 40". Also the seats will be about 5' from the back wall. I am still working on the details, but the theater part will be roughly 19' across the front and around 27-33' deep. The wife and I are still considering a theme. We (I think) are going to go with a castle theme, as the new home we are building is going to be an actual castle.

Very nice! I have a dedicated building on my property for my home theater and your appears very similar.
Here's a couple of changes I would make if I could do it all over again.
1) Bigger - I've got about 4 feet behind the screen where all my equipment is stored (a/v rack, speakers, etc). It would be nice to have 10 or even 20 ft back there.
2) Rug looked darker in the store, wish I went darker.
3) Wider columns - big enough to hold my surround speakers. As of now they are wall mounted next to the columns, if they were inside the columns there wouldn't be any equipment to see.
4) Spent more time sealing the ceiling lights. A little shake occurs during loud deep bass - it annoys me, no one else seems to hear it.
5) Installed a bathroom.
Here are a few things that I would NEVER change:
1) Woodwork running along the ceiling is open at top, allowing me to drop all my wiring out of view.
2) Hydroponic Electric heating elements are completely silent.
3) Mitsubishi Split A/C unit. Cools entire room in summer and does it at 26 db.
4) Fixed screen is top hinged allowing me to lift it and prop it up for access to behind it and my equipment.
5) Spent money on a prefessional carpenter and the best electrician in town.
6) Acoustical treatment (Owens Corning Acoustic Board)
7) Riser is hollow - it shakes during deep sub use and I don't need bass shakers in the chairs.
Good luck with your theater.
