I saw First Blood last night on Blu-ray and it looked pretty good for a 20-year old movie. Especially the dark parts of the movie, which I thought would suffer most, looked surprisingly good.

So now I'm hoping another 20-year old movie favorite, Escape from New York would appear on blu-ray since it's studio is MGM. I think it's a safe bet it will come out eventually.

What's the latest info/rumor on this title? Any chance we'll see 'Escape' in 2007?

I'd love to see it on BD, though they missed a good opportunity with last year being the 25th Anniversary.

Anyways, this will be an excellent movie in HD.

They Live and Prince of Darkness will be HD DVD exclusive, unless Universal gives up the fight by then of course.

For years I've been hearing about a Flash Gordon 2-disc set (also Universal). Now it's been announced, but no HD DVD to go with it! Hopefully it's coming. Uni's been pretty good about doing simultaneous releases so maybe it just hasn't been released yet.
