Hey, anybody try renting the departed BD from Blockbuster online. Mine still says "coming soon". Has anyone tried renting this and actually have it sent yet? Pretty frustrating. :mad: I have about 7 bd titles in my queue and they are all short or long waits. I'm wondering how Netflix is with BD service. Has anyone had a good experience renting BD's from Netflix. What about The Departed?

you must be pretty new to online BR rentals. If you expect to recieve new movies anytime before 2 months after their release you are in for a surprise.

Netflix sucks just as much as BB online. I cancelled my account and now I am just buying movies I really want to see.

yep, i am. just got a ps3. that totally blows. man, some of these bd's have been out a while too. and i can understand that it might take a while for me to get a new release, but The Departed is still listed as "coming soon" not even "long wait", how can they not have purchased some for release? they are stupid. And now i've heard everyone is sold out, which sucks even more so i guess i'll have to wait a few months before i even see this movie. lame.

I've been able to get new releases from Blockbuster and Netflix. The Departed is a special case from Blockbuster since it was recently added to their database and it doesn't look like they actually have any inventory yet. But I was able to get Marine today, and last week Running With Scissors and Open Season. The only trick is to have an empty space in your movies out all day Monday and Tuesday. The easiest way to do this is to empty your queue and only put the coming soon movies in your queue.

As far as short and long waits, that is normal for both Netflix and Blockbuster. It took me a while to get Miami Vice and Invincible, but again, you have to be patient. If you are just looking to maximize your viewing, there are plenty of HD movies that are in stock. If you want new releases, you'll have to be patient and wait a few days for the short and long waits to show up.

Not for me, I received Fly Boys and Open season the day after they both came out.

If I were you, I would just buy The Departed.

I have The Departed being shipped today due for arrival tomorrow from Netflix. No problem for me getting new releases. I have gotten several new releases from Netflix.

i am tempted to buy it. i just don't know if it's a movie i'll watch more than once, even if i really enjoy it. and when it costs 30 bones, it ought to be a movie i'll watch a few times.
