View Full Version : Since the departed is out, anyone looking to get The Prestige
Well I was one of the lucky few to get The Departed at my local Best Buy yesterday(last one actually) and now that I have it, I'm now looking forward to The Prestige next week, anyone else?
Oh yeah this is my first post too! :D
Finally got tired of trolling the boards for the past 3 months. So now I finally have my first post!
Lame I know lol.
I can't wait for this one.... It should look great on Blu ray...
Oh and welcome aboard! :)
I had them both on order, so yes keep rolling 'em in.
Oh and welcome aboard! :)
Thanks for the welcome, I've learned a lot about home theatre equipment from this site, and now I want to get involved. Hopefully learning enough to contribute someday, I tell you, it's a very addicting habit, but one oh so worth it. :D

Never got to see it when it was in the theatres and from what I've read it's a great movie so the answer is yes. I don't mind blind buys when most information about a movie is positive.
hassoon 02-14-07, 12:27 PM I already have the HD-DVD version of the Departed, but I'm gonna go ahead and use the Paypal promo to get both the Departed and the Prestige for $18 each :) .

And welcome to the board :D !
Word of advice: Don't choose camps. And if you do, don't make it obvious ;) .
I preordered the prestige a while back. Definitely looking forward to it!

Thanks for the welcome
And thanks for the website, so many deals I read about, I forget which is which at times
I plan on not choosing camps, while I've been trolling, I observed it can get pretty vicious sometimes, and I'm really here just to communicate with people about my new addiction. Thanks for the warning though, I plan to tread VERY lightly....
Sisko197 02-14-07, 12:45 PM Definitely looking forward to it.

I hope you mean lurking and not trolling ;)
The Prestige is a very good movie. Although I feel slightly retarded for not figuring it out until the end. I think I will put this in the buy column because there's a lot of things I will probably notice for the first time every additional time I watch it.
Rachael Bellomy 02-14-07, 01:13 PM I was watching The Guardian BD this morn and it had a preview of The Prestige. It looked good. I'm thinking about getting it.....
SetterP 02-14-07, 01:15 PM Didn't have a chance to see it in the theather, so this is a definate buy for me

Yeah... oops
The Prestige should be a good one. The review is already up on HDD. They gave it a PQ rating of 5! Its my favorite movie for 2006.
Dude seeing that review is making next Tuesday seem so far away! This movie eluded me in theatres when it came out, but now I'm so making sure next week I have a few hours to watch it.
And to sound Greedy.... Bring on the Bond!!! :D
restart 02-14-07, 02:03 PM Prestige is on the top of the shopping list.

Yeah for 1984! :D
I'm definitely picking up Prestige and Babel next week which will be my 8th and 9th BD acquired in the month of February. Maybe I should cut back on my spending

I swear, 1984 is like the year of years :D
Babel I'm still on the fence for, dunno why. The Prestige is most definitely the must buy for me. I hear you on the spending thing, I also have Virtua Fighter 5, NBA Street, and Crackdown next week.....
Man am I glad I have my tax return lol

You need The Departed on both formats?

I think I'll get out of this thread before some llama gives away the ending and spoils it for everyone who hasn't seen it...

Humbert Humbert 02-14-07, 08:04 PM God I hope The Prestige is bettter than Departed. Sick of falling for hype.

Not sure what one has to do with the other. Will people who get one be more inclined to get the other? There are many movies I'm looking forward to. But each movie stands on it's own merit and getting one particular movie doesn't affect what I think about getting any other movie. Sorry, but I just don't understand the connection.

No worries, there's no connection, just excitement on some big releases coming out. It was just a well hey now that this is out, anyone up for this kind of thing. Trying to have a fun topic to discuss :)
