Does anyone know if costco sells or will ever sell blu ray titles? sorry if this has already been asked.

Not yet. My store usually has high prices on DVD's though.

I haven't seen anything at regular Costcos, but the Costco Home Store near Kirkland, Washington had the Samsung player and then about 6 Sony BDs listed for $20 each. It was just a sign for the movies and an employee would have to get them from the back.

I've seen the Costco near me carry them before, as well as the Sony standalone Bluray player. But currently, that store is not carrying them anymore or any players (Costco changes their in-store stock a lot).

I have never seen any Blu-Ray or HD-DVD movies in any of the Costco's in the Northern Virginia area.....I frequent the Chantilly store mainly. I have never seen any of the players either.

I spend some good money at costco each month.

I would love to see BD at costco.

Ours does not have any HD movies at this time.

I e-mailed the company and requested them to carry Blu-ray.

Neither format at my two local Costco's.

Yep, no BDs or HD DVDs at mine either, I was looking on Saturday.

They did have a tidy little DS Lite bundle that I had to work to resist.

There hasn't been any sign of Blu-ray or HD DVD at my local Costco yet either. I'm keeping my eye out though.

I really don't consider Costco (or any club store) that great of a bargain, especially on newer products. In a few cases they're actually more expensive than specialty shops.

Costco USED to be the best place to buy DVD's. Now they are the most expensive place there is.

I too frequent the Chantilly store and have never seen anything about HD-DVD or Blu-ray. I think Sams Club is your best bet to get the Blu-ray wholesale experience.

I imagine that Costco would start stocking Blu-ray on their online store before they put them out in their stores.

Local COSTCO had about 25 units of the Toshiba A2 player about three weeks ago. Price was $ 449 and model designation was "D2" as I recall. No BD or HD discs were in stock...just the Toshiba players.

I bought a couple of Blu-ray movies at the Costco in La Quinta, CA. They did not have a huge selection but pricing was fairly reasonable.

My local Costco has HD-DVD players, they had HD-DVD media back when the players launched but no new stuff for a while now. My Local Sam's Club has Blu-Ray Discs & the Samsung player.

Following these threads, it appears that the "cutting edge" products such as Blu-Ray and HD-DVD start appearing in the Washington State Costcos and the California Costcos first before they ever move to the rest of the country.

So it looks like you guys out West are the Costco "Beta Testers". :)

Costco is no bargain. They lost any price advantage a few years ago. Their prices have been slowly creeping up and when you factor in the price of a membership it becomes truly ridiculous.
