The rest of my BD play at 1080p24 but Chicago shows 1080p60. Anyone else notice this?

What it shot on film or video?

Chicago was shot on film:

Botched transfer maybe? BTW 1080p/60 is not a supported video encoding format as per BD specs (1080p/24, 1080i/50 & 1080i/60 only).

Well you may be right, but the Sony player does not output 1080p24 on this disc, only 1080p60. Maybe it is 1080i60 and the sony converts it to 1080p60 even though it is set for direct mode.....

anyone else with a vp50 have a sony and chicago? Alan?

I checked Chicago on my Sony VP50 using the Sony Blu-Ray player by HDMI, and it displays 1080/24p, so nothing wrong with the disc.

ok, I will have to try it again. I had my VP50 on firmware 1.01 at the time which we al know is a beta firmware with flakey info screen at best. I have switched back to firmware 1.00 so I will try again and report if it was just a fluke with teh beta software on the vp50.
