I'm not sure if this belongs in this forum or not....

I'm trying to run the picture from my HR10-250 DTV reciever to my panny AX-100U PJ AND to a 19" Sceptre monitor. To facilitate this I bought the **part#3049 1X2 Powered HDMI Splitter ** from Monoprice.

the pj gets the picture just fine, but the monitor is just static, except for [very] brief glimpses of the menu screens when changing screens...

the monitor works fine when the splitter is not in the loop.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be going on?

Also, I'm not opposed to splitting the component out signal (pj is 72o native), but need to do that without signal loss.

thanks

Brandy

Also, it may be relevant that I'm using an HDMI to DVI cable. (no hdmi input on the monitor)

and...when I change the resolution on the source, for a brief second, the menu becomes visible on the monitor, but quickly returns to colored static...

The HDMI splitter outputs the same resolution to both devices. Is your monitor HDTV ready and widescreen?

HDMI/DVI communicates which modes are available between output device and display. But not sure how the splitter handles that if the displays have different video modes or aspect ratio. Do both work at 480p, or does the monitor alone work on the splitter work at 720p.

I'm pretty convinced it has something to do with HDCP....I've ordered an actice component splitter to see if that will work...

monitor works fine directly, but not through the splitter
