Hey guys, need some help...bought a VOOM receiver for OTA digital...works great...my problem is as follows: Rf lead from outside antenna goes to VOOM, output from VOOM goes to Rf input on VCR/DVD recorder, Rf output from VCR/DVD recorder goes to TV...now with VOOM turned off I cannot tune in analog with the VCR/DVD recorder or the TV (VOOM box does not pass RF signal through when switched off)...is there a way I can still use the VCR/DVD recorder to record?

You're going to have to split the cable before the VOOM - feed one output of the splitter to the VOOM and the other to the DVDr. Then connect the composite output of the VOOM to the input of the DVDr. To get a better PQ on the TV, I would also connect component or at least S-video between the DVDr and TV.

Or, keep the VOOM on all the time.

If I leave the Voom STB in an "off" position, will it still amplify the antenna signal? I have Voom STBs still active with the diplexer. I'm curious to know if I can pass the signal from the antenna through the diplexer, forgoing the actual Voom STB, and right into my TV's RF input. In turn, I want to use my TV's internal tuner. Would this work? Has anyone tried something like this?
