Is there any benefit in running my PC resolution higher than the native resolution of my HDTV? The TV is a 37" HDTV (native resolution of 1366 x 768) with a DVI-to-HDMI cable running from my comp. I mostly game on the HDTV, with office/web stuff on my small CRT.
I'm mainly questioning this as a performance issue. E.G. running games at my HDTV's native resolution with all the eye-candy turned on vs. running at a higher resolution but possibly taking a performance hit (would it matter, since my TV will down-convert to the native res). Also, I have an older small CRT that I use for non-gaming stuff, so the resolution question really only applies to games.
