Alright I just got the HD service from Comcast, and wanting a HDMI output comcast gave me the SA8300HD Explorer settop box but told me i wouldnt be able to use DVR unless i paid the extra 10$ a month. So my question is, is there a way to enable the DVR capabilities of this box without going through comcast? Or is this something that only the cable company can enable?
