I got a SA 3250HD cable box from TWC. I noticed the back has a DVI port, but have read that they arent active, But I have also read that some are, aparently due to difrent firmware updates.

Excuse any noobieness I may be displaying here, but is there any way to know if it works without buying a DVI->HDMI cable and connecting it up?
