Ok, heres my set-up. Its a project in progress, I havn't even moved into the new apartment that this will be set up in.

Tv: Samsung 50" dlp projection 420p/1080i

Audio:

Receiver: Yamaha HTR-5960
Mains: Yamaha NS-555
Center: NS-C444

no sub yet, not sure if i'm really gonna need one (plus being in an apartment, have to be nice to the people next door.

I'm gonna use the new xbox 360 (the one with hdmi) w/ the hd dvd drive as my primary dvd player. I have the monster 3500 MKii power referance center being powered through a tripp lite ups 1000 back up battery system that gives up to one hour battery back up, but it also stabilizes voltage, and maintains a steady output, picks up the slack for bus under volts during sags and brownouts , and regulates the power in the case of spikes and surges.

This is my first entertainment system that I actually put some thaught into. The HTR-5960 receiver is an amazing deal, I love yamaha, my father uses a yamaha reciever that costs 5 times as much as the one I baught, but I got mine for 300 bucks brand new which was a steal. I got the two main ns-555 floor standing speakers for 300 bucks for the pair, both brand new in actory boxes and packaging, the I got the center for 70 bucks, brand new! So, for the money, I think I built a pretty amazing system with all new components. Plus the piano black finish of these speakers are awesome. My father runs the ns-777's in his HT but I went with the smaller ones (im in an apartment).

So, what do you guys think, I know the ns-555 speakers are very crisp, and "clean" and some people prefer warmer sounding speakers, but when I listened to these speakers and put them up against other speakers in the same price range, nothing could beat the sound, and the looks, or the build quality of these speakers.

Everything is still in their boxes, just itching to be installed in the new apartment. I think for a 21 year old moving into my first apartment I'm doing alright, I have everything I need just sitting in my bed room turned storage room since i'm living with my girl friend .

So, let me have it, your worst, your best. Suggestion for tuning, setting it up, Come on, I might be new to this forum, but i'm no stranger to this stuff, so give it to me straight doc!

I was looking at the same setup, power-protection wise, and was wondering if you had the tv hooked up to the 3500 or to the tripp-lite? And do you have the 3500 hooked to the tripp and the tripp connected to the wall or do you have those two switched?
