i did a search but couldn't find any topic on this or the right place to post this question. are we allowed to just put them on the streets next to garbage so when the garbage truck comes they can just pick it up? it's a 36" tv.

Ideally, you could find the local "electronics" dump, in your area. Most localities have several places to dump garbage electronics (functioning or not). Most likely the same type of places that take computer monitors and parts, would also take a tv.
Try perusing your local municipalities pages on waste disposal/recycling etc. Might give you a good and environmentally friendly lead...good luck!

Well that depends, if it is a set like a SONY XBR960. There are many takers here.
Otherwise you might want to try calling the Volunteers of America, the Salvation Army, Kidney Foundation, etc.

Last fall for Halloween he didn't drop the pumpkin but blew it up with a charge lol
